Something changed.... I know they remodeled the inside, but the meat just isn't the same. I was completely disappointed in my last two visits... Both bacon and ground beef were not the same, and no where near the quality they had last fall. What's up? New chef?

It's a shame that this place closed. They had a good idea, but perhaps just not what St. Louis was looking for?? It was in my understanding, that it was a full dining event of 5 or 6 courses, was this true?

It is such a shame that the restaurant industry is having to shut its doors to inside seating, and forced to either close or change their dynamic and offer only curb pickup or delivery. Hundreds upon hundreds of restaurant staff are being affected. I don't know what I'd do if I owned a restaurant. Either way, it's not easy I'm sure for them.
Buy local from a locally owned restaurant, not a big franchise restaurant. Local restaurants buy from local meat markets (hopefully), which also keep a lot of people working, including the farmers
Hang in there everyone!

I grew up on a farm, and just really like beef. Don't get me wrong, I love my ribs, pulled pork etc on the smoker though. But if I'm going out for a general dinner, I'd usually get a burger, French dip, steak, etc...

I figured I'd put this here, since it's about a national franchise and not necessarily any of the topics above.... So, every Steak & Shake I drive past is closed and "for sale" for just $10,000. So, why am I still receiving ads about their app updating and enhancing my Steak & Shake restaurant experience? Haa has

Wow, that's some really great information. Thanks for sharing!! I'll definitely have to show this to the wife n kids... they ALWAYS stand at the fridge with the door open for 5 minutes trying to decide what they want... UGH... AND I'm turning my temperature down to 33 if I can.
Thanks again for sharing!!

The old timers will tell you its a Rib Steak all the way. Every year it seems on our annual fishing trip, one of the older guys brings this up... every year... Ugh.... too funny that someone added it as a poll question. Haa haa 🤣

I've heard of the Mann's Meats food truck, but never had a chance to have any of their foods. Now that they have a brick and mortar store front, has anyone been to their new location? Everything on their site looks great! Looking forward to visiting them soon

I agree, they definitely have had a lot of FB posts.... it seems every time I refresh FP, there's another post from Ben.

I just got this email for Lent: http://www.ediblesandessentials.com
Our famous FISH FRY is coming back to Edibles & Essentials! We're very excited to be serving our beer-battered Fish n' Chips out of the Essentially Fries food truck right out front, starting Wed, March 6th and continuing every Fri through Lent! We sold out pretty much every night last time so make plans to be here early! FISH FRY starts at 4pm!

That's a really great opportunity, or several great opportunities. Employee owned is something not heard of too often. Hat's off to the Hamiltons!

This was my wife's favorite place for the seafood soup! It's a shame to see them go. Wishing the best for Mr. Cardwell!

Great poll.... somewhat interesting when it's all laid out like that...

Hello all, I'm Larry, I live in South St. Louis. My wife and I go out often, and our dining choices range from very nice higher end dinners on occasion, to a night out with friends for drinks after a smaller dinner. I really like this web site layout, as I'm tire of the politics, ads and useless videos on Facebook. I'm tired of them knowing everything about me as well.
So, I'm glad to have found this food based discussion group. I look forward to learning more about the site, and chatting with restaurants, chefs and other foodies.

C&C Butcher - Ellisville, MO
in Butcher Shops, Delis and Local Markets
Posted
I went there the other day to load up my deep freeze with the marinated steak tips, pork steaks, ribeyes, chicken and more.... HOLY COW, it was so busy. Everyone is flocking to the smaller butcher shops as the big boys run out it seems. I went to C&C, because that's my "go to" local butcher. People were buying meats as fast as they could put it in the cases. Keep u the good work Glen and team!
