  1. I was at C&C Butcher recently, and holy cow, they are doing a great job adjusting to the new demands of everyone. I love the expanded items like fresh bacon, not frozen stuff. They really have enhanced their offerings. Great personal service as well.
  2. Businesses like this are who I hope people are buying from! Companies like this have direct contact with the farmers, that's really appreciated. AND we're keeping local people employed
  3. I see a lot of reports on processing plants closing.... Then what happens? Why are they having to close? Did they companies not provide a work environment to accommodate social distancing? Who's at fault? Is anyone at fault?
  4. I have a sous vide and really enjoy the results and ease of cooking with it. However, I wonder what chefs think about this technique. Is it cheating? Is is a common technique in foodservice cooking? I appreciate everyone's feedback.
  5. I have the anova precision pro, and love it. It will definitely change your method and idea of cooking at home. It frees up a lot of my time and gives me great results!! The app which sync's with my phone is really slick as well.. lots of recipes too
  6. If I'm going out for something light, I look for a chicken wrap or salad with chicken in it. Other than that, I usually like baked or smoked chicken. I remember years ago, when Jake's Steaks had a Blackened Chicken Linguine that was my favorite item on their menu. I only had a steak once there... I always got the blackened chicken linguine. I guess it really says something if I can remember a certain entree from 20 years ago. Ha, I guess I really am getting old.
  7. That's great information to keep in the back of the mind. Thanks for sharing! I'm also turning my refrigerator temp down.
  8. I use to love Frankly Sausages, I'd try to eat there twice a week, wherever the truck was. However, after the new ownership, something in my personal opinion just hasn't been up to the same standard. Don't get me wrong, they do appear to put out some really great looking items, however, the flavors were off, or just not what I expected. What experiences have others had?
  9. I've never heard of this brand... Is it local to St. Louis? They sound interesting!! Oh.... wait, I just clicked on their banner ad and visited their web site.... Looks like they're all over in St. Louis. I'm going to have to grab a couple kinds to play with.
  10. I was just browsing the forum, when I saw the C&C Butcher advertisement... I completely forgot about them... This is a little hidden gem of a butcher shop. First off, I love their marinated steak tips.. I highly recommend if you haven't ever had them. I like to get special cut meats like ribeye and tenderloin. I get all my grilling meats there. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to my sometimes foolish requests. Glad to see them as part of the TableGab.com forum! I don't have any pictures from C&C Butcher, but I can tell you the shop is clean, basic but full of great meats and ideas. Thanks C&C for your community involvement as well!!
  11. I recently went to LeGrand's Market, and was saddened to see that they didn't have any Wenneman products there. They use to have at least some items, but nothing there now with the Wenneman name.... Also, I agree, not a fan of Boars Head over priced meats, and they only have Miller ham, which is ok, but not my first choice.
  12. My friends and I met up there a couple weeks ago.... The drinks were amazing, the food was really good, small portions in my opinion, but a bit on the expensive side. We were really mesmerized by the bar staff creating our cocktails, often being creative and tweaking them to our likes. I'd say the drinks were what most impressed us.
  13. Wow!!! Those pictures look great!!! I've checked out their menu, and everything sounds really good.... not sure if they all fit into my diet plan or not, but definitely look good, has haa
  14. I just love the outdoor space at Molly's!!! So relaxing and the different levels / areas are very accommodating for any type of customer.
  15. I agree, this is a horrible case of false advertising. I've heard their ad on the radio touting their Prime beef as top 2 percent of all beef in the nation, the best you can buy..... have they ever had wagyu? I've seen the USDA reports for several months and I've seen the Prime slaughter percentage as high as 11 percent of all beef in the US, and as low as 6 percent during the winter months, when the beef use up their fat reserves. I won't ever eat at that restaurant because of their shady misleading tactics. Their ad also says you can't buy prime in stores... which is BS, you can buy prime at Fields Foods, The Smokehouse Market, Sam's Club, Costco and other St. Louis markets.
