  1. If I'm going out for something light, I look for a chicken wrap or salad with chicken in it.   Other than that, I usually like baked or smoked chicken.   I remember years ago, when Jake's Steaks had a Blackened Chicken Linguine that was my favorite item on their menu.  I only had a steak once there... I always got the blackened chicken linguine.     I guess it really says something if I can remember a certain entree from 20 years ago.  Ha, I guess I really am getting old.

  2. I use to love Frankly Sausages, I'd try to eat there twice a week, wherever the truck was.   However, after the new ownership, something in my personal opinion just hasn't been up to the same standard.    Don't get me wrong, they do appear to put out some really great looking items, however, the flavors were off, or just not what I expected.    What experiences have others had?

  3. I was just browsing the forum, when I saw the C&C Butcher advertisement... I completely forgot about them...    This is a little hidden gem of a butcher shop.   First off, I love their marinated steak tips..  I highly recommend if you haven't ever had them.   I like to get special cut meats like ribeye and tenderloin.  I get all my grilling meats there.    The staff is very friendly and accommodating to my sometimes foolish requests.

Glad to see them as part of the TableGab.com forum!   I don't have any pictures from C&C Butcher, but I can tell you the shop is clean, basic but full of great meats and ideas.

Thanks C&C for your community involvement as well!!

  4. I agree, this is a horrible case of false advertising.   I've heard their ad on the radio touting their Prime beef as top 2 percent of all beef in the nation, the best you can buy.....  have they ever had wagyu?      I've seen the USDA reports for several months and I've seen the Prime slaughter percentage as high as 11 percent of all beef in the US, and as low as 6 percent during the winter months, when the beef use up their fat reserves.

I won't ever eat at that restaurant because of their shady misleading tactics.

Their ad also says you can't buy prime in stores... which is BS, you can buy prime at Fields Foods, The Smokehouse Market, Sam's Club, Costco and other St. Louis markets.
