I took my wife to Prasino St. Charles the other night.. It was packed, but I had reservations. The restaurant in general is beautifully done, with a large glass private room at one end. The staff was incredibly pleasant and enjoyable. Our waiter recommended that we get the lobster crab cakes... I'm not a crab cake guy, but these were great!! I didn't get a picture until there was only one remaining... Haa My wife got the filet, on a bed of potatoes... it was cooked perfectly. I had the ribeye on a bed of mashed potatoes... The ribeye was stringy with a lot of connective tissue. Not sure if it was "select" or "choice" grade, but I wasn't impressed with the ribeye. There are so many great items on their list, that I just won't get the ribeye again, and I can try something new... Oh, we got a bottle of the Beran Zinfandel... Fantastic bottle of wine... a little pricy, but amazing body. Just my $0.02 Cheers, Fish

Be sure to stop in, and maybe even get on TV Congratulations Rick on your continued success!! By the way, have you ever considered frying fish in that hot batter you have?

looks good... Yes, I've heard Paul Otten, one of the owners say (when I was there) there's not actual "liver" in their liver sausage........ If so, WHY does he have it listed on his ingredients list? I do like their "Cooked Sausage" (Liver Sausage)... but am curios as to how he can say there's no "Liver" in it when the ingredients list shows it...

LeGrand's Market - South City
Fish Heads replied to Catfish Hunter's topic in Butcher Shops, Delis and Local Markets
LeGrands is really good, I agree. Always a line at lunch... they just have good stuff, usually from local companies. I look for that. -

I like TableGab, good choice!! -
Sometimes you can get a glance into a kitchen, but for the most part, I agree with Catfish, I'd think that well established restaurants would have pretty good kitchen set ups and policies.

Web Site Name Needed - Please Help
Fish Heads replied to Admin's topic in Polls: Let's see how everyone feels
No, this would not be infringement on Feast's name... they could buy the domain as well from whomever owns it. Legally, in the domain name world, whomever buys it first and has a site generally related to the domain by name, theme or topic, has full ownership and rights to the domain name. -
From the album: Fish Head's Seafood Dishes
red wine, butter, olive oil.... enjoy -

Has anyone ever had the scallops at 1111 Mississippi? I had this dish some time ago, and it's a special, not necessarily on the menu. These scallops were amazing, and were served over a bed of white creamed noodles.. I wish I remember what it was, and had pictures... Has anyone else ever had this dish there?

What are your initial thoughts?
Fish Heads replied to Admin's topic in Polls: Let's see how everyone feels
Great idea... The forum format is one of the best forgotten secrets. It brings so many aspects of what information is out there under one roof. It's great that I as a customer in restaurants can have direct contact to some of my favorite restaurants and chefs.... yes, there's FB out there, but if you don't "Follow" their page, you don't know if they're out there nor their updates. Granted, they will have to be active here, but nowadays, most companies have a social media person for online content. It's in their best interest for them to become active here. Great work, looking forward to seeing it grow. -
Genie in a bottle, what is your final wish?
Fish Heads replied to Wing Nut's topic in Polls: Let's see how everyone feels
Fun Poll... I voted to "remember everything" .... I think I did.... Did I vote yet? I can't remember.... -
Hey all, I am a self proclaimed foodie, but I don't really know what that means.. I like the layout of this new site... I look forward to it growing so more content is available, such as events, specials and more. One of my favorite seafood dishes is the Stuffed Grouper from Matanza's Pass in Fort Myers, FL... My favorite seafood dish around here is a toss up between the scallops over creamy noodles at 1111 Mississippi or the Scallops at Yia Yia's in Chesterfield.
