  1. So great to see the site coming back to life!! Hopefully it will get traction this time and become THE place to talk food... I'm tired of all the BS on Facebook. I really like that this site is based 100% on food, restaurants, the chefs and customers' input. 👏
  2. My girlfriends and I went there and had a great time before going to Vin De Set. Just waiting for them to put sand on the floor so you can take your shoes off, haa haa Great place, we will be back!
  3. I had a group go there after the Run St. Louis event, and there was a 45 minute wait, sadly we decided to find somewhere else... we had kids with us, and they only had one section open... But it does look like a great place to enjoy the outdoors with a meal and drink. I'll be back
  4. Yay!!! Happy Birthday! Also, thanks for sharing your recipe!
  5. Girlfriends and I went to Chavas for lunch today, and it was my first time there.. One of the girls got a salad, I saw the chimichanga, and had to give it a try. It came either with pork or chicken, and all I really wanted was ground beef, so they substituted ground beef for me. While we waited, I can say that their fresh salsa was perhaps the best I've had in all of St. Louis that I can remember. Once my chimichanga arrived, my mouth was watering, and my eyes were very happy. The chimichanga had a nice crispy light crust, lettuce on the side, with fresh guacamole and sour cream on top. A bed of rice was on one side, with a bed of beans on the other. Everything was amazing!! I couldn't eat it all, so I get to enjoy it again at home. The wall had many awards from recent years as the best Mexican restaurant in St. Louis.... Well Deserved!!! Well Deserved!!! I will be back to try many of their other items... I just wish they were closer to Chesterfield.
  6. was this per person or combined like "date" night?
  7. I really like this forum layout. This is exactly what the food scene in St. Louis needs. We've got great print magazines with great writers and articles, but this is the one site that fills the gap between the chefs, restaurants and food lovers.
  8. That's a good poll... kind of makes me rethink my habits, and how to eat better, or use the forum to find better eating alternatives with daily specials.
  9. I saw this too... I was greatly impressed with Mike's creativity right off the top of his head. He should have won for sure.
  10. I had their fried chicken the other night, and it was cooked perfectly. They gave a 4 piece half chicken and it was more than I could eat. The breading was flavored well, and the chicken pieces were big and juicy. The green beans were cooked just right and the mashed potatoes were spot on. I had the turtle cheese cake afterwards, and it was big enough to feed 3 people. Needless to say, I brought a little bit of everything home. Great job Stack House!!
  11. Very impressive. I never even knew there were culinary olympics. It's great to know that a St. Louis chef led the charge

    Beef Strip Steak

I will be making reservations again soon. Oh, a bold red zinfandel would be fantastic with this.

    Gnocchi

    All of these look amazing!
  14. Gunter Wilhelm cutlery are highly engineered quality cutlery. I've heard that they have a series that has the Presidential Seal on them, and they've even sponsored or were involved with the culinary olympics... Guess I need to do my homework to learn more... but either way, glad to now be registered in the drawing.
  15. Good afternoon, I enjoy the art of a well crafted meal, or even cheese/sausage appetizer or even a desert. Pairing a fine wine with a well crafted food is a bonus that I get excited about. Hope to learn more about everyone here, and share my own experiences as well. Thanks for the FREE food forum!
